Overland Park, Kansas – Phase Technology® has announced the availability of the new Teatro® TCE1.5 ultra-thin 2-way Center Channel eliminator speaker. Two units placed on either side of a TV or projection screen will function as left, center and right channels, eliminating the need for a third center channel speaker. The TCE1.5 achieves this through inclusion of a center channel woofer and tweeter in each unit along with drivers for left or right channel use. The center channels are wired together at the receiver/amplifier; the result is center channel audio that sounds as if it is coming directly from the TV or screen.
Two 3” woofers, two 3” passive radiators and a ¾” soft dome tweeter are provided for left or right channel operation, along with a ¾” soft dome tweeter. An additional 3” woofer and ¾” soft dome tweeter are provided for center channel operation. Woofers are polypropylene with NBR surround. The speaker measures 26.5” H x 6.75” W x 1.5” D at the edges (2.5” deep in the center). The cabinet is constructed of black brushed aluminum, with a black powder-coated pressure-fit aluminum grille. Sensitivity is 90 dB, with 100 watts of power handling.
The TCE1.5 may be wall or table mounted. A smoked Plexiglas stand is included for vertical tabletop mounting.
“These ultra-thin speakers bring signature Phase Technology sound to a center channel eliminator system that will match the depth of ultra-thin televisions,” said Ken Hecht, VP of R&D for MSE Audio. “They’re the perfect solution for customers who want an attractive, great sounding speaker but do not have space above or below their TV for a stand-alone center channel.”
