Residential speaker systems on display at The Home Show

The 68th Kansas City Home Show, presented by the Home Builders Association, kicks off March 18th, at Bartle Hall in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Typical exhibitors include home improvement businesses, house parts manufacturers, and landscaping companies. Several famous TV network “do-it-yourself” and renovation stars will make guest appearances at the show, including Chip and Joanna Gaines from HGTV’s “Fixer Upper”. This year, MSE Audio is throwing tradeshow attendees a curve ball with several displays showcasing residential speaker systems for outdoor applications.

MSE Audio, located in Overland Park, KS (just outside of Kansas City) is the parent company of a number of internationally recognized residential speaker systems manufacturers, including Induction Dynamics, Phase Technology, Rockustics, and SolidDrive. Featured at The Home Show this year is Rockustics’ line of realistic rock-like outdoor speakers.

Over the past 30 years, Rockustics’ hand-built line of the industry’s best rock speakers has grown to encompass 27 models of fully weatherproof, fade resistant, aesthetically pleasing outdoor rock speakers for home and commercial applications. Rockustics speakers are built for harsh climates and can be left outside year-round, withstanding whatever mother nature throws their way. One user even claims that his Rockustics speakers worked even after being buried in a ten-foot mudslide! These bad boys won’t rust and deteriorate in high-humidity or salty coastal environments – pool-side speakers, anyone?

Unlike most outdoor speakers, Rockustics speakers have the color impregnated in the resin shell. This means that even if a rock’s surface becomes chipped, you won’t see a gray or white scar. The impregnated resin also means they weather naturally, much like a real rock (also known as “patina“), instead of just fading.

These speakers are hefty. Rockustics speakers are constructed of a proprietary resin mixed with marble dust, and it’s thick. They won’t break, even if stepped on by passersby, and they’re heavy enough that a casual thief will think twice about trying to walk away with one. Rockustics speakers can also be outfitted with the optional RB-1 security bracket to even further deter theft.
